Why swim with pigs in the Bahamas when you can paddle with pigs in Wales!

What to expect?

Take some friendly KuneKune pigs for a walk along a scenic valley and if conditions allow, go for a paddle and a splash with them in the river Senni. This great pig experience is held at a smallholding in the Brecon Beacons National Park, now known as the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, in Mid-Wales.

You will be in a small group of 8 people at the most, or you can book a private walk just for you & your friendly trainer.

Great fun for pig-lovers & animal-lovers wanting a fun and engaging time in the countryside with these smart & engaging little animals. Have the opportunity to learn all about their welfare and their life in this scenic area. This is the best present you could ever give to a pig lover, and adults especially love this unique day out.

Individual spaces are £35 per person for a join-in session with up to 8 people, and from £140 for private sessions (this includes 4 spaces but you can add in additional spaces at £35 per person) – private sessions are only available if there are no prior bookings on that date.

You can even make it extra-special by booking our “Piggy Walk with a Picnic”, with tasty tea & cakes afterwards.

If you would like to buy undated Piggy Walk in the Valley gift vouchers as a present for a pig lover, you can look forward to a special day out & UK staycation with friends and family in 2025 & 2026.

The experience includes being introduced to the piggies, then you and the cute little pigs will have a yomp along the valley with the route adjusted slightly according to weather & ground conditions. You will be walking along fairly level ground that can be muddy at times, possibly with some uneven areas. If it’s not too muddy, you’ll have a quiet potter with the pigs across scenic meadows and take a paddle with the pigs in the river Senni.

Please go to the booking calendar to see availability & book online. You can book individual places on our join-in sessions or we can take bespoke small private group bookings to have the pigs & their trainers all to yourself.

Walks are late March to October as long as the weather isn’t too wet and windy. When it is hot, we find that the pigs are happiest going walking & having a paddle with you.

Wellies can be hired – we don’t have many so please bring thick & thin socks.

Private walks are more suitable for those with limited mobility – please advise us at time of booking.

Long sleeves & trousers are recommended plus strong insect repellent in summer as there are horse flies that bite!

Wellies are advised, (even in summer as the pigs will be muddy even if the ground isn’t). If conditions allow, the walk will sometimes take you to the river where you will be able to paddle with the piggies but we obviously cannot predict when this will be possible.

No! Sorry, but dogs are not allowed on our walks as they can stress the animals. When it is hot, we do not have any shady places to park, so please do not assume you can leave your dog in the car while you visit. Please contact us if you would like a recommendation for a dog sitter.

The donkeys are at a different location about 30 minutes’ drive away, so please bear this in mind if you wanted to book both activities on the same day. The sheepdog sessions are about a 45 minute drive from where the pigs live.

No! We are in a rural area with a tiny population that doesn’t have any bus services nearby. The nearest town accessible by train then bus is Brecon, so we would suggest staying there and travelling by taxi or e-bike but it is about a 10 mile journey. Do please lobby Welsh Government if you think that is unreasonable.
