Dog-lovers will adore this great sheep dog experience day on a working farm in Wales.
Our Sheep Dog Experience is a great gift for sheepdog fans and dog lovers who want to have a go. Really apt also for a 7th wedding anniversary wool present!
Spend a morning with one of South Wales’ best young sheepdog handlers, Ross Games, who competes and judges internationally as well as training Welsh Border Collies at his family Welsh hill far near Crickhowell.
The experience includes an overview of handing and training, with demonstrations from Ross’s dogs who are at different stages of the education. You will learn the classic commands as used in One Man and His Dog, and get to have a go with Ross’s dogs and his little herd of training sheep.
On the farm there are rare breed sheep and cattle. We will have dates for 2020 from March to November and you can request dates as long as Ross is available as he competes nationally & internationally as well as shearing in the summer months. If you visit in April / May, there will be lambs and calves that you can also meet on the experience.
As an added benefit, all Good Day Out activities and adventures help good causes. This experience also gives a donation to farming charity RABI for every date that is booked.
The Gift Vouchers are undated and valid a year to book. With all vouchers booked from now to December, we will give 31st December 2020 as a standard expiry. If you want to book a specific date please go to our experience page and use the calendar – we automatically send gift cards with all vouchers so you won’t need to request this. Alternatively call or send us an enquiry for quick friendly help and advice.
E-vouchers are free, but we can also post with a gift card to you or straight to the recipient with your own message, please select this option at checkout. All vouchers can also be redeemed against any other Good Day Out experience days and we pride ourselves in being as helpful as we can for our visitors to have the best experience possible.
This small group experience lasts 90 minutes. Children must be accompanied by a paying adult. We regret that your own dogs are not welcome due to the livestock and nature of the experience. Bystanders are not allowed, sorry, as this is a very small group experience.
