See yourself having a Good Day Out?

Who is behind many of the great Good Day Out photos?

When Good Day Out started way back in 2013, Julia was lucky enough to meet up with Will Lewis who ended up taking many of the classic photos of our amazing experience days that we not only use for the site, but the photos also continue to be used for fantastic press features in our lovely national press, glossy magazines and also overseas! We are committed to your having a good day out so always want to be real whilst showing what is great about our micro-adventures.

Will Lewis is a professionally trained photographer who has worked in most aspects of photography for over 40 years – from weddings to book illustrations, to teaching, aerial photography, and in recent years was tasked in creating iconic images for a multitude of activities for Good Day Out.

The lovely pictures of Melonie Clarke for The Lady Magazine attending our Lambing Experience Day in 2014 were stunning and set a benchmark for others to come, and all of Will’s photos made it into the lovely three page spread on her day with us in the Brecon Beacons.

Will’s passion is the outdoors so when he met up with Julia, boss of GDO, it was a match made in heaven!
Will has photographed many GDO activities over the years including gorge walking, walking with birds of prey, sheep trekking, Brecon Jazz on a canal boat, Brecon Jazz on a double-decker bus, and a Gurkha cooking experience, where Gurkhas come to your house or holiday home and cook you a genuine Gurkha meal!

What essentially has been so great about the partnership is that Will is able to help people see themselves having a good time on one of our GDO mini-adventures, so hope when you have seen one our images it has been what you are excited about and then also representing what good kind of day out you will have.

Most recently Will visited and photographed Julia’s absolutely gorgeous miniature donkeys which are available for Dinky Donkey Walks where you can groom them and then lead them across stunning Brecon Beacons countryside and then stop for a picnic lunch which the donkeys carry on their backs in tiny panniers.

Will has recently retired and can now spend more time on his passion of wildlife photography, particularly salmon, cuckoos and otters. However he’ll never turn down the chance to help out GDO with whatever wacky activity Julia is up to!

Big thanks to Will, and also to his daughter Michelle who has helped many times along the way!!
